Spika Owners Participate in Trade Mission to Canda

Tom and Carol Spika, owners of Spika Welding, recently participated in their second trade mission arranged by Montana Senator Max Baucus, this time to meet with business representatives from Calgary, Alberta, and the oil sands near Fort McMurray. “Our participation in these trade missions allows us to identify opportunities we might not know about otherwise,” Tom Spika said. “Once we have connections in a country, we will send a design team to evaluate the specific project needs. Partly as a result of overseas sales, we are slowly expanding our workforce and our company continues to grow, despite the difficult economy.”  Spika is grateful for the work Senator Baucus and his staff put into these trade missions and expanding international opportunities for Montanan businesses. “It would be much more difficult to find and explore these opportunities without their help.”
